An Out of This World Field Trip for Grade 3 Scientists

This month, third graders headed to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science with Ms. Elise de Geus and their classroom teachers as part of their Mars Rover and space exploration unit.
In Grade 3 science, students have been learning about the challenges engineers face when coding and sending a rover to space, including the complexities of remote communication and unexpected obstacles.

At the museum, students explored interactive exhibits, examining rover models and learning about the history of space exploration. They even had the chance to simulate some of the challenges faced by real-life space engineers, making connections between their classroom lessons and the exhibits.

It was an exciting day of discovery for our Grade 3 space explorers!
