Grade 3: Classroom Reporters Share News

Third graders in Dana Pease's class are gaining experience as journalists and bloggers by acting as classroom reporters. They publish The Pease Post each week as well as The Monthly Pease. The best part is, the students came up with the idea themselves.
Third graders in Dana Pease's class are gaining experience as journalists and bloggers by acting as classroom reporters. They publish The Pease Post each week as well as The Monthly Pease. The best part is, the students came up with the idea themselves. "It's fun to share all about what our class does and the subjects we learn about," says Samantha Brenner. Along with Kate Hughes, Avery Anderson and Sophia Johnson, she writes short articles about lessons, specials and other activities like the Penny Harvest, including the "who, what, where, when and why" of the stories. Sometimes, the bloggers interview students about their experiences outside of school. On Fridays, they share the week's news with the class. GO report!
