Exploring Ancient Egypt in Grade 5 History

In Mr. Mike Willis' Grade 5 history class, students delved into Egyptian religion as part of their unit on ancient Egypt through an engaging activity that fostered inquiry and observation.
Large sheets of paper, each featuring a primary source image, were placed around the classroom. In pairs, fifth graders spent five minutes at each poster, making observations and asking questions based on what they saw. Over the next several days, Mr. Willis revisited the primary sources and their connections to ancient Egyptian history, answering students' questions and addressing their observations from the previous activity. This allowed the fifth graders to deepen their understanding of the sources and their historical significance. Keep up the great work, Grade 5!
