Seeing the joy in a child's face when they understand a new concept or persevere through a challenging problem is Mrs. Hall’s inspiration. Ask her about the time she was camping and a cow walked into her tent!
Impacting Students I love to teach about identity. After a series of lessons discussing race, gender, family structure, culture, disabilities, learning differences etc., the students create their own identity web on a Wordle. They rank the words so the most important part of their identity becomes the most prominent word on the Wordle. This encourages students to understand themselves on a deeper level. It celebrates individuality and helps students recognize and appreciate both our differences and similarities. The impact of this lesson is far reaching in developing acceptance and understanding of themselves and their classmates.
My passion is teaching Lower School students to love learning, to take risks and persevere, to collaborate and become engaged students, and to be kind, thoughtful friends.
Favorite Childhood Memory
Our family holidays for the first ten years of my life involved camping all over Europe, moving locations every day or two to see beautiful towns and villages, and amazing geographical features. I definitely did not always appreciate these holidays at the time, but I have made sure my parents know that these experiences instilled in me my love of traveling.
