Knighting ceremonies start late in May, but students have much work to complete before they become Graland Knights. The next two weeks will be busy as they design and paint their shields according to the symbolism and colors used in heraldry. They are also writing their Knighting speeches, a collaborative effort involving history, drama and literacy skills that describes their qualifications and goals as Knights.
