PreKindergarten kiddos got a window seat to watch construction crews make progress on the Corkins Center. As they lined up with hands pressed against the glass in the Hamilton Reiman Building, students talked about the safety equipment worn by the workers: hard hats, yellow vests, harness, boots.

They also observed the equipment on the job site, such as the crane picking up beams and moving them to be added to the steel frame. Then, they went downstairs to the library where Ms. Sears read to them about cranes and cement mixers from the collection of new books.

"This buildling is very special because the workmen are working very hard," commented Victoria Pearson, a student in Lisa Flannery's class.
