Seventh grade historians in Beth Gaffga's class shared their understanding of Manifest Destiny and the rapid expansion of US territory in the 1800s with custom-made board games.

The 3D projects had to show landforms, challenges of the journey, territorial acquisitions, symbols of progress and other features. As students played each other's games this week, they learned even more about our nation's history, and reflected on the question, "Were the decisions that led to US expansion in the 1800s justifiable?"
