Eight Graland alumni stepped back onto campus recently to share stories about their careers, professional passions and life experiences with the current eighth grade students.  Representing diverse fields like entrepreneurship, political science, visual arts, medicine and science, they engaged students in lively discussions about career choices.

Parents of the class of 2013 report that it was time well spent. One said, “It was a life changing experience for my son,” to hear directly from an orthopedic surgeon. Sam R. is planning to stay in touch with Dr. Dan Hamman and seek his advice as he moves toward his goal of becoming a doctor as well.

Speaker Cary Kennedy ’83 was impressed with the level of questions from the students, “They have an understanding of the value of this community and posed questions that I would have expected to hear from an audience of adults.”

We are grateful to the following alumni for making this valuable experience possible:
  • Luke Beatty ’86 - Managing Director at TechStars
  • Jeff Eldridge ’93 - Owner at Liberty Puzzles
  • Cary Kennedy ’83 - Deputy Mayor and Chief Financial Officer to Mayor Michael Hancock
  • Matt Cheroutes ’91 – Senior Strategic Advisor at Elkus Sisson & Rosenstein
  • Bruce Gomez ’72 – Visual Artist
  • Sasha Miller ’90 Ripps  - Visual Artist
