Grade 1: Using "Wizard Brains" to Make Good Choices

First graders are dressed in costume today for Wizard Day, a time to celebrate learning based on the BrainWise® program. BrainWise teaches children how to use their smart (wizard) brains to make good choices.
First graders are dressed in costume today for Wizard Day, a time to celebrate learning based on the BrainWise® program. BrainWise teaches children how to use their smart (wizard) brains to make good choices. Students learned that lizards attack or run away quickly when angry or upset. We have a part of our brains that allows us to stop and think before we react so we don't have to act like lizards! First graders practiced critical thinking and decision making skills with their wizard brains through drama, songs and activities that help them control impulsive behavior.
