Please join us for all-community presentation for parents, grandparents, special friends, alumni, and educators.

Keynote Speaker - Yoni Buckman
Yoni Buckman serves as the Senior Educator at ConnectED, where he leads transformative student sessions and professional development programs that promote critical thinking, empathy, and respectful discourse on complex topics such as antisemitism and Jewish history. Through these efforts, he helps academic institutions cultivate a culture of curiosity, content knowledge, and courageous conversations.

This year, Graland partnered with ConnectEd, which empowers academic institutions to achieve their goals of fostering critical thinking, empathy and respectful discourse and equipping students with the skills for media literacy and courageous conversations.

We are honored to have Yoni Buckman as our keynote speaker on Community Day who will address courageous conversations. While ConnectED is geared at Grades 6-12, Yoni, a former Lower School teacher, will prepare a special presentation for Grades 3-5 and will address Grades 6-8 separately. We began the 2024-25 school year with a strong focus on our Character and Community attributes and made the direct link to civil discourse as we approached the presidential election. We will continue the strand of civil discourse through the lens of courageous conversations to ensure we continue to thrive as a community by seeking to understand in a responsible manner.

Community Day is made possible through Graland's Diversity, Equity & Inclusivity (DEI) Fund, which was established by Drs. Roger and Suky Barkin in 2018 and has been supported by additional Graland community members. To contribute to the DEI Fund, please click here.
