Favorite Interaction With Students
When the Kindergarten Team celebrates each tenth day of school, I visit the classrooms dressed as the Queen of 10. In this persona, I spend time engaging with the kindergartners about the importance the number 10. I ask questions and love to hear how they think through their answers.
Favorite Graland Moment
There are two: When my daughter, Adie, was accepted into Graland's Kindergarten program and when she graduated from Graland.
Graland Trip I Love
As a teacher, the fourth grade Bike Hike at the start of each year was when I loved getting out of the classroom, exploring Denver, and spending time with my new students. It was a great way to connect with them.
Professional Passion
I like working with the Boettcher teacher residents, coaching them, and giving them feedback. It’s so rewarding to see them take the feedback and implement it into their practice.
Lifelong Learner
Nan Remington is my mentor. Her guidance, advice, and experience helps me to understand how to be a thoughtful leader to the Lower School faculty.
Why I Work at Graland
Graland has an incredible support community and many of the people I have met and continue to work with are my close friends.
Outside Graland I’m...
Traveling and spending time with my daughter. I love to get out on my bike exploring the wonders of Denver.
Life Goal
I adopted my daughter, Adie, from China in 2005. I would like to take her back to China to show her the orphanage and where she was born.
Fun Fact
Eighteen years ago I was granted a sabbatical to travel around the world. I left Denver and headed East, visiting many different continents and countries. I kept heading East until I traveled all around the Earth and landed back in Denver.
Favorite Childhood Memory
I grew up on the Hudson River in New York and spent many of my weekends on the Clearwater, a sloop, with musicians Pete Seeger and Don McClean.
